About me

I am a self-taught artist with a lifelong love for the natural world. My love is accompanied with immense grief and anxiety, as corporate greed and incompetent governance continue to decimate wildlife populations and habitats. The UK is particularly guilty of this, having lost 50% of our native species since the industrial revolution.
Britain is one of the most biodiversity-depleted countries on Earth, yet there is still so much worth saving. Every spring and summer, wildlife charities cope with an influx of orphaned and injured baby birds and mammals. It is up to volunteers like myself to keep these babies fed and warm, until they are self-sufficient and ready for release into the wild. I spend the most time with wild birds, so they have become my muses.
Birds are universal symbols of beauty and freedom, but they are also chaotic, intelligent and multifaceted. I try to portray this in my work, showing birds in expressive poses and unconventional angles.
